Hope you all are having a good 2011!
Wanted to make sure I mentioned the Guide to Literary Agents Blog contests. Sylvia saw the contest for literary fiction pop up earlier this month, and mentioned it to me. I'm sending in my first 150 words.
The thing is, the contest judge is a literary agent who reps the genre, and the contest is free of charge. A pretty good deal.
In this case, the judge is Lindsey Clemons from the Larsen-Pomada Agency. She reps literary fiction, thrillers and mysteries. I like the way that sounds, because my novel The Hiding Place Girl is literary fiction, and my second novel, the one currently in the works, is a literary thriller.
For a listing of this contest, and those in the past, so that you have a taste of what's most likely coming up, just click on 'contests' on the lefthand GLA sidebar, and there ya go.
I've put a link to the GLA blog on my own sidebar. Feel free to point and click.
P.S. I'm supposed to send along a tagline as well as the first 150 words. You know me - I have a boatload of one-liners that I think would work, but in the end, I have to pick just one. It's gonna be a mighty struggle! Well, a mini-mighty struggle, but still...
P.P.S. I took so many posts off of this blog, because I was trying to decide what to do here. I'm leaning toward putting them back on, since they are some of the best posts on this place. Are you guys gonna keep blogging? I suppose that's the question. I've noticed many people are leaning toward other, quicker, forms of communication, and yet, this format is how good friends are made.
