Hi you all,
Are the Euros and Aussies (and transplants that happen to already be experiencing Thursday...), are you ready to post your stuff? (And by the way, ril, do you wanna do your own post here this time? That would be great! But if not, no worries - just send me the gobble-de-gook stuff to put on here, please.)
As for the rest of us, should we go now, or wait?
Here's the deal - whatever we decide to do - please pop on here and let us all know where to travel around, when you're ready.
OK- I'm about to go to bed (yeah - I'm a wuss), so, here's my reading of a part of one of Pete's excellent published stories...
I can't wait to hear you all!
Love,
Robin

Hey Robin! I have the patience of a squirrel and so my reading of Freddie is up. Here's a direct link, but it's just on my blog of normal. YouTube video. I hope I didn't destroy your work, Freddie!
Ha! Go paca, go!
I'm getting antsy myself, in all honesty. I'm gonna listen soon, but I'm gonna try and hold off until...well, I feel weird being first to listen, for some odd reason.
I'll post mine before I go to bed tonight. And I'm saving the listening for tomorrow morning, so I have something to do besides pout that my kid wakes up at the crack of dawn.
Oh. My. God. This was just . . . sublime, paca. I'm thrilled you took the time to set it to music. And credits! The puppet made me feel like a kid being read to at the library again . . . if the material I'd been read were wildly inappropriate for children. I couldn't help but laugh. THANK YOU!!!!
Or . . is that really you? Hmmmm. ; )
Mine's up.
Er, the voice thingie I mean.
Oh well, good, blogless. I was gonna say.
My reading is posted. Can't wait to listen to everyone else's tomorrow!
I've posted mine. Can't wait to listen to everyone else:)
http://julie-weathers.blogspot.com/
My apologies to Blogless for butchering his fun story. I did so enjoy reading it.
Just posted Whirl Plays Sylvia.
Got to dash — but I'll be back later to comment...
Ach, you're gonna have to wait a little longer for my reading of McKoala's words. I've just tried doing one today and by the time I get it uploaded, it's unlistenable. A combination of the air conditioning noise in my room and my crappy microphone. So I've got another microphone coming tomorrow and I'll re-record it and post it then. Really.
I'm slowly making the rounds. Interesting story, Pete. Is it part of anything larger?
Though, to pull out my inner ril, you can't juxtapose Bo reaching down to unhook her bra and then have her pull out Andy's pole without the mind going in the wrong direction.
Seems like we've got a lot of fantasy/scifi people and a lot of lit people. Can we all get along?
Wow- it was great waking up to this! I'm taking headphones to work today because I HAVE to hear these.
So, blogless's is up, and paca's thinking 'can we all just get along' because of our genre-fication differences, and then there's that bra pole thing...
I'm in such a good mood this morning!
Ahem..EE?
Dashing like a mad woman but I'm putting mine live now and will be listening to everyone else's very shortly!
http://backspace.blog.me.uk/a-voice-exchange
I've started to listen but then my Hubby started sanding the floor (I can't hear myself type right now) so I'll be around later to y'all. This is very exciting!
Were you reclining on the chair when you read this? It sounds such an easy read, so credit to you and Pete for this.
Hi, Whirl. Yep- sitting at the dining room table with the chair turned around, looking at the living room.
I was working on slowing down and losing some accent. It (sorta) worked.
I've been around to visit some this morning - now I'd better work some.
Back later thsi afternoon.
By the way, McK and Pete will be later on this evening, I think, as McK had a crazy busy schedule and Pete had a hotel room with a crpa connection to the internet - so couldn't post his yet.
And also...
Mine's up. Hope I did Paca's story justice.
I won't have time to go through any of these until tomorrow, probably. Things are heating up at school.
BTW, you really must see Paca's youtube reading—and not just because it's my story. It's fabulous!
Here's mine. Me doing me.
Robin, don't you dare lose that accent. This was great. I love listening to you.
Yes, I agree with Natalie--if you lose the accent, you'll sound just like us. And that's boring!
Fun reading. And lol, Pete, do you know any Mormons? Because I've never said anything like "The Lord will be my fish" or whatever in my life. That did make me smile though.
This was great, Robin.
Best morning ever!
Kiersten was kind enough to let me know my blog was privatized. Oops. It's public now for anyone who wants to hear Paca's story. Sorry about that!!
Just listened to EE's--very nice! Didn't peg him for a leg man. Had him pegged as a peg man. Goes to show you never really know anybody.
Off to listen to more...
:-)
Just listened to BT--very nice!!
Off to Pacaland (I hope he doesn't have swirling colors)
Paca Productions is Awesome!!! I laughed my head off. Soo good!!
I'm going to listen to one more, then try to write a little and come back again later...
Robin, this is such a fun idea!! I want to join in next time, may i?
:-)
Hey, Chris- I wish you would!
And...I just received an email from Pete, guys, and his is up on his blog, reading me, though he won't be back from his business trip top listen and chat until later on this evening.
I really wanna be home so I can relax and really listen to everybody. Shold be there in about 5 hours. Not that I'm counting.
Poor Robin. This really made my morning pass much more pleasantly. That, and Dojo slept in until 7! Wow.
EE, I don't know if you check comments where you posted your voice, because I left one there. Suffice it to say, loved the voice, loved the story.
For some reason youtube isn't working for me (our connection - various places have recently become no go *sigh*) so I only get the first couple of words. I'll try again tomorrow!
I wasn't getting comments there, but I should be now.
Pete - great story! I hope that there's more and we get to find out what she feels so guilty about. Was it just that he went to Iraq or did something awful happen there? I'd love to know.
Thanks Robin for a lovely reading. I adore your accent. Never change it!
Hey, guys. Sylvia mentioned a good thing to do as a reminder, since I haven't listed the pairings since the drawing was held.
So...it's...
freddie and paca, reading each other
ril and McK, reading each other
kiersten and natalie, reading each other
julie and BT, reading each other
sylvia and whirl, reading each other
robin and pete, reading each other
and EE (this time, at least) reading, um, Sparky
This should help you be able to know if you've seen and heard it all. McK's should be up soon.
EE, did you get the comments earlier today from anybody (like me)?
Also, did you get the comments on the other piece you did? Hope so.
The only comments I've gotten were right here. Someone leave a comment at the scene of the film so I can see if it's now working. I had it set to a different email address.
Hey, EE, just commented there. Yell if you don't get anything.
Pete - Great story! I would love to read more!
Robin - you have an awesome voice!
Dang...let's see, what did I say, EE...something along the lines of, gym shorts aren't worth murdering over, and that you are really good at those short stories. Writing and reading them both! Also, that we should try to find something you're not good at to do next time, because it's kind of getting depressing...
Mine is finally up! Sorry for the delay. Will start listening to yours now, but may take me several days to get round everybody. Darn this work thing. It's just getting in the way of reality. Um. Is there something wrong with that statement?
Hey,McK.
Glad to see you here - hope your day is a relaxed one.
Just listened to yours, Robin - well, it's only polite to start with the hostess. It's as if Pete wrote this for you - there's underwear, there's drinking, there's poles...
Seriously, I enjoyed this. Your voice brings a wonderful wistfulness to the piece. I suspect it's there anyway, but I think your voice enhances it.
Yeah- Pete did a good job of picking a piece for me to read, didn't he!?
(this may show up weird - as I'm trying to change my sign in name)
Tried to listen to some of these at work, and the bits I heard were great. I'll catch up on the rounds tomorrow. Too tired now.
Hey, Sparky,
I love your voice and your delivery.
Hope you've had a chance to listen to everyone.
(I tried to get FH on here for ya. I really did. Even though I feel strongly that you should like American Southern accents best.
But she was going on a trip.
But hey. On the plus side, you now know what Blogless sounds like - surely that affords you some compensation for the loss of that beautiful female British voice? The David Niven/Cary Grant thing?)
Mostly Ray Milland, but a bit of Cary Grant.
I hadn't thought of Ray Milland - maybe because his voice doesn't come as readily to mind to me.
But I agree.
My Ray Milland actually sounds a bit like Scooby-Doo.
My Scooby Doo sounds a bit like Ray Milland.
I love Scooby - and I'm fond of Ray - so either one works for me.
Or Cary G. There's always that. Or him.
I do a mean Cary Grant:
"No, you can't have any pie, my dear; it's mine."
Robin: I adore your accent.
I loved listening to all of these, although I couldn't find ril's.
I was going to come in late and read one of Robin's naughty pieces but if you're doing this again soon maybe I'll wait till then.
