I'm following on to McK's darling pet Polly dog post with pictures of our baby cat, Madison.
Madison was tossed at us last May, when The Blondster (currently in bed with the actual flu) received a tiny baby kitty for her birthday. JB and I were not, as they say, amused. And neither was our old cat, Dale, seen here looking miserable early last June, sitting next to the wild child, Madison.
Dale was seventeen years old, and sweet, and tired. His natural habitat was Lying Still, on Cushions.
And then...along came Maddie.
Fast forward to now.
It's not so easy to get good pictures of Madison...she of the nimble little bod.
But finally, she sat still in the kitchen...
She's mean, bitchy, screeches when she doesn't get her way, runs roughshod over the pussy boy cats in the neighborhood, and I love her.

I adore black cats! Madison looks like quite the character. I love the fiesty ones myself. Had a toothless cat who would try to gum you to death. She was seriously fiesty. Struck like a snake and meowed like she smoked three packs a day.
More jury duty tomorrow - no idea yet of the outcome. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow. And it's my Friday off work, too. Big bummer.
Man, the bobbles I could make on the fabric of those chairs...
Go the Pets!
Poor Dale does look deeply unimpressed by his new friend, aka Disturber of Peace on Cushions. Poor Dale. On the other hand, Madison is mighty cute and fluffy!
Here's a child story for you to love. Princess and Soccer Boy were playing on their scooters in the neighbouring street, supervised by myself and another mum. While we were watching Soccer Boy and a friend impress us with Cool Scooter Moves, one of Princess's friends, a year older and a ton stronger, pinched her scooter and took off with it.
Never take on a Princess. She chased him down and slugged him right in the jaw.
She's looking at a weekend Scooter Ban, but secretly Mummy is kind of proud.
Oh, those naughty cats can be so loveable. Rufus is a bully; he attacks his sister, nips us when he feels like it and is not afraid to use his claws but when he comes up on my lap and butts his head against my chin he is totally adorable.
At least Bonnie is mostly well behaved, except when she gets lonely in the middle of the night.
Sarah, I'm hoping for the best! Let us know, please.
Geoff, you better watch it, girlfriend, or Mad Cat will getcha.
Hey McK, Mummy should be EXTRA proud. I love that Princess's style. I really do. Take no prisoners.
(You go, Princess! That jerk ass should've never touched your scooter - you were right, and society is wrong with all that cheek-turning stuff. Mummy knows, too - that's why she's actually pretty tickled with your performance!)
FH, Rufus and Mad Cat would be quite a pair as neighbor cats! And Bonnie would look on, thinking oh, the riff raff we have 'round here...
Uh, has Madison ever considered going on a diet -- just she looks a tad, uh, robust there...
Oh, ril, Miss Mad Cat is actually quite tiny underneath all that hair.
Dale, on the other hand...that sweeties was a 'tub' a lard'.
Oh, it's the hair. Righty. Eighties hair?
Yep, my man, you've got it. 80's hair, revisited in fine and high kitty cat style.
