Oh my, you guys are so much fun!

Hey ril,

Glad you enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what you and McK decide to do to one another!

Ahem.

That was awesome! I love your laugh. This is going to be fun.

All the excitement of the FA Cup draw — and yet no need for a single ball subsequently to be kicked.

Good clean fun.

Robin, that was so fun to watch! And it was interesting, too--your voice is much higher than it was in your previous readings. I think because you are excited and not nervous. And your daughter is beautiful!

That was hilarious! More wine!

Are we all sooooo bad?

I'm just upset that McK has moved ahead of me in the quiz. I'm gonna take it out on her somehow.

"We're gonna have a big ole time!" Make me feel right at home, robin s.

Haha, that's a great video. I enjoyed that. And your daughter is just gorgeous. :)

Hey, McK - more wine was indeed forthcoming. How did you guess? Andof course we're all soooo bad. That's why I like you all! All that potential.

You and ril - doing verbal battle. Can't wait to see/hear it.

Yeah, paca, I know what you mean - the accent of our past, sitting right here in my present. Lizzy, as you saw, has a great time saying "bah" for "bye". When she and her sister were younger, they attended a Montessori school run by a wonderful French couple who saw it as their mission in life to rid anyone in attendance ( this was in Lousiville) of a Southern accent. It worked, and both girls have a 'newscast' accent. Lucky dogs.

Thanks, Kiersten and Sylvia! She's my baby.

And Natalie and Miss K - well, I guess we'll see how bad the rest of us in this trade off, ya little cuties. Then, you have a decison to make if we trade off again sometime. (Ha ha!!)

Thanks for this great idea, Whirl. The results should be something special. Not sure what, mind you. But something special, nonetheless.

P. S. EE, are you tempted?

I'm having a crappy day and this cheered me right up.

I wish I could join in but maybe next time... I think reading one of Robin's naughtier pieces in my Jackanory accent would be good fun.

Robin S. said...

Oh, FH, we're gonna miss your voice. We really are!

Especially EE.

And I do think you reading one of my, um, scenes, would be hysterical. Any time you're ready, you just let me know.

Whirl's Software Project #3625:

Sample Robin's laugh and instruct Windows to play it whenever it performs an 'illegal operation'.

Should take the sting out of my next system crash...

I'm trying to find an appropriate piece. Any suggestions on word count?

Julie Weathers said...

I just went to listen to Ee's piece again and it said it was no longer available. Did Robin wear it out?

Robin S. said...

Hey. Jules - I'd say time yourself reading for somewhere around 2 minutes or so - and also - since BT will be reading - PLEASE make sure a fairy character is in the story!

We've never heard BT before- and I seriously think hearing him do both a regular voice AND a fairy voice would be priceless beyond anything.

As for EE, he took his off and I don't know why. But hey, he's giving us another one on
Sept. 4th - so be happy, girl!

Julie Weathers said...

I think you wore it out, Robin. Fess up.

All right, I'll try for two minutes. Not sure I have any fairies around but I do have a fairy dragon.

McKoala said...

Oh, I think mine's waaaay too long then. Please feel free to give Ril the juciest bit.

Robin S. said...

Oh, don't worry, McK - I'm just guessing- I sent a long one to Pete as well, and then I told him to feel free to cut it to wherever he wanted.

Maybe two minutes is too short to shoot for?

Julie Weathers said...

I'm having problems getting something to two minutes. Enchanted Jars was 3 1/2 minutes I think.

Robin S. said...

Don't worry, Jules - just send whatever you think is best, and BT can take off part of the front or the back if he needs to.

Julie Weathers said...

I love JB's voice, by the way.

Not Irish or Aussie, but a nice voice. An Irish accent would be murder for me to resist and I plan to never go to Australia even if I could.

Blogless Troll said...

Hey Julie,

Just send me whatever you want. Then I won't feel bad when I send you something that's too long.

Robin S. said...

Yeah, Julie- you do that, girl, and make sure that fairy dragon is in it, 'K? Oh yeah.

Blogless Troll said...

Fairy dragon voices are my specialty.

Robin S. said...

I was kind of hoping for a dolphin voice as well...

So sorry I've been MIA guys. I have no excuses - except that I've been catatonic in front of the TV. (Which isn't so much an excuse as an admission of gross neglect of the internet!)

I'm looking forward to hearing y'all though.

Brilliant vid! Blondster's a cutie alright. My daughter is a red-head. She pretty much takes the piss out of my accent regularly.

Robin S. said...

Hey Janey -

i'm so glad to see you!

Julie Weathers said...

I couldn't make up my mind so I sent Blogless two pieces and he can choose. Now all of us will be surprised when we hear it.

Late to the party as usual.

I am thrilled that I got paired with Robin. I would be even more thrilled to know that the draw was rigged. Robin, I will try to do justice to what you send me (haven't read it yet). I might have sent you something too long. Just cut it short wherever you run out of breath. (I know, I know... "I bet you say that to all the girls.")

I love your daughter in the video. I flashed on this and wished she'd said "manamana" and then you guys could have broken into the chorus.

My earlier voice post may be accessed by going to http://theirishhill.blogspot.com/2008/07/telling-each-other-story.html, scrolling down to 8:56 AM and clicking the link.

Though the voice exchange looks like fun, I had already had Evil Jr. assist me in creating a film of my piece before the exchange was arranged. So you're stuck with me reading me.

Robin S. said...

Oh, I thought you took it off - I was going to the link I'd saved. I'll go back tonight and listen again (Julie had that part right, you know. I would've broken it by now, but I couldn't get to it to do the breaking).

I'm good with being stuck with you reading you. In fact, I'm very good with that.
