It's almost September and I gotta admit...

I have a bad habit. I don't look up. On vacation last summer, the strength of these colors above me in an archway in a small town in Portugal just about made me look up to see them. I was glad they did. Now, with fall coming, I'm really gonna have to force myself to look up. Usually, when the cold comes, my eyes hibernate along with the rest of me.

By the way, I'm going back down those Virginia back roads this weekend. Down Saturday early, and back late the same damn day. Fun trip. I won't be looking up, but only straight ahead, to get through it, both the trip down and up, and the hours in between.

I'll be recording part of Pete's story on Sunday or Monday. It's a good one, and I'm going to do my best to do it justice.

I'm really looking forward to hearing all of you next Thursday! The switching will be something special. And then there's EE, who doesn't have to switch anything at all, ever, just as long as he keeps coming.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

That wasn't Evora, was it? That's the only small Portugal town I know. I went there once, on someone else's dime. Beautiful place, lots of history from the dark ages. I highly recommend it, especially if you can get someone else to pay.

Good luck with the drive. And thanks for the kind words on the story. I will read yours this weekend and figure out how to read it out loud, on camera. I hope.

I love that kind of stuff — it's like a load of child prodigies have gone on the rampage with felt tip pens.

I'm juggling laptops to get sound working.

Hard drive is the diagnosis on my pc so I won't have it fixed by the time we enter the bits.

Blogless' entry was wonderful as I knew it would be.

Ah.

Finally awake, aware, alive, and home.

No, Pete, that doesn't sound like the town - I can't remember the name, though, so maybe I'm wrong!
It was on the Atlantic coast maybe an hour north of Sintra - that's all I remember. Helpful, huh?

Yeah, Whirl, me, too - it amazes me the care they take with those rampages of theirs - and the amount of time they spend.

Thanks, Chris!

OK, Julie, we'll see about working another way to hear BT. Good luck with your laptop.

I have it recorded. I just need to remember how to save it to Pod now.

I emailed it to you. Let me know how you want to post it. I can do it on my site or here. Being paranoid about losing things now, it's been emailed.

Hey, Julie. I'll put a post up on Wednesday evening so the 'out-of-towners' have a place to pop on and say their's are ready to view.

Then we can all travel around blogging and listening. So put it on yours when it's ready, and then pop a note on the voices post and tell everyone it's ready.

The 'out of towners (out of the country)' will put theirs on first, as they all hit Thursday before we do.

Oh, and Pete - that town was Obidos, and I was wrong. It wasn't on the coast. So much for my memory. We drove over from the place we were staying that was on the coast - a place called Praia D'El Rey.

And yeah, I had to ask JB, because I hadn't really paid attention to the names.
